UKIAH, 11/12/19 — Many people were startled yesterday evening in Ukiah by what can only be described as a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Observatory Avenue and Helen Avenue. No bystanders were struck, no suspects have been apprehended, and no apparent victims have turned up in the hospital according to Ukiah Police Department Lieutenant Cedric Crook.
Police were dispatched around 9 p.m. last night, Monday, to the intersection where at least one witness and surveillance footage told the story. A light colored (possibly silver) four door sedan and a light colored (also possibly silver) Toyota RAV4 were traveling in the same direction up Observatory Ave., when at the t-section with Helen Ave. the sedan executed a U-turn in the intersection turning to face the RAV4. People in the sedan then fired as many as eight or nine shots in the direction of the RAV4. Both cars then sped off. No bystanders were struck.
The UPD is still actively looking for suspects and victims, or anyone with information or additional surveillance footage of the incident.
