MENDOCINO Co., 7/10/19 — Cal Fire will be holding a memorial service for Firefighter James A. Buckley, on July 13 at Camp 20. Buckley began his service with the Cal Fire Mendocino unit in Point Arena in 2005, then in Ukiah, Hopland, and the Jackson State Demonstration Forest. Buckely passed away on June 13, 2019 after a brief illness, and is survived by his daughter April Dymtrow and his son Casey Miller.
The outdoor memorial service commemorating Buckley will be held on Saturday, July 13, at Camp 20, 15800 State Route 20, with seating beginning at 10:45 a.m. All who knew Buckley are welcome to attend. The announcement notes:
“Jim was known for many things, but his passion and willingness to help others was a trait everyone admired. He was a servant to his community with an open heart and mind, and always had a great attitude. Jim was a mentor to many of his Cal Fire brothers and sisters. He never turned down a chance to help others and made friends everywhere he went.”
