MENDOCINO Co., 7/28/19 — A multi-agency cannabis eradication effort, called “Operation Clean Sweep,” began in Mendocino County several weeks ago, involving the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, the California National Guard, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and others, and simultaneously, a similar operation has been taking place in Humboldt County and around the North Coast. Today, the Civil Liberties Monitoring Project is hosting a forum at the Mateel Community Center called “Community Caught in the Crosshairs,” including Humboldt Sheriff Billy Honsal, Building & Planning Director in charge of Code Enforcement, John Ford, and 2nd District Supervisor Estelle Fennell, to discuss this cannabis enforcement effort in Humboldt County.

The form begins at 2 p.m. You can watch the video of the meeting below, filmed by Emerald Triangle TV. You can read more about Operation Clean Sweep, which is taking place in Mendocino County, in our previous coverage.
