MENDOCINO Co., 6/3/19 — Cal Fire has re-opened a limited number of campgrounds and roads within the Jackson Demonstration State Forest for the summer season as of May 24. Seasonal roads in the area will open on June 7.
The Jackson Demonstration State Forest website lists the most current information about which campsites and roads are open, and you can also call the office to get the details. The office is located at office is located at 802 North Main Street, Fort Bragg, CA. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (closed from 12-1:00 p.m.). Camping is permitted only at designated camp sites; campers self-register for sites and pay camp fees of $15/night for a single vehicle. Visitors are reminded to not drive any vehicles off-road in the forest, and to not drive on muddy or wet roads even if they are open for the season. Pets are allowed, but must be on a leash.
