UPDATE 4:50 P.M. — It looks like the fire is close to surrounded and perhaps knocked down, thanks to the quick response of local departments and Cal Fire.

UPDATE 4:35 p.m. — It appears that resources on the way to the fire are now being cancelled, generally a good indication that the fire is coming under-control. And resources at the fire appear to be being released.

MENDOCINO CO., 5/10/19 — A vegetation fire is burning in Redwood Valley and has reached approximately one acre. It’s located in the 10400 block of West Road near Mohawk Trail and Road K. Multiple fire departments are currently responding, including Redwood Valley Fire and Cal Fire, and the fire is being described as burning in “light flashy fuel” on the scanner, which typically describes a grass fire. The fire was first reported around 4 p.m. and seems to be moving north, as of the time of publication.

Multiple engines and fire crews are currently on the scene. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
