Downed tree blocking 101 north of Willits — now reopened

UPDATE 4:25 p.m. — As of 4:25 p.m. the CHP is reporting that the tree has been cleared and that traffic will be returning to normal shortly.

MENDOCINO CO., 5/16/19 — A downed tree is blocking U.S. Route 101 about 10 miles north of Willits. CalTrans is reporting that a tree had been blocking all lanes but that fire crews responded and managed to clear a portion of the tree. CalTrans is unclear on whether or not traffic is flowing yet, but the CHP has indicated that there may be one-way traffic control at the site.
