Route 1 closed north of Rockport — power lines down

UPDATE 8:00 p.m. — It it appears that an RV struck a telephone pole they needed to close the road to repair it. It does not appear, contrary to what we originally reported, that the downed lines were downed power lines, but instead damaged phone lines.

The repairs continue and there has been no update as to the estimated time of reopening.
