WILLITS, 4/29/19 — Cal Fire will begin requiring permits for residential burns in Mendocino County Wednesday, May 1. The permits are avaliable at Cal Fire stations (see below for details). People conducting burns must check with the Mendocino Air Quality Management District, to make sure burning is allowed on that day.

We need to stop all burning (other than CDF prescribed burns) in any part of Mendocino county. The air quality suffers and there are those who burn using accelerants under forest canopies (eg. in Brooktrails) with little regard for safety precautions. I know… I’ve seen them.
Haul out the debris or bring in a chipper.
