New Year’s Baby 2019: It’s a Girl!
Press release from Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, Jan. 2, 2019.
Ukiah-CA- Ukiah’s first baby born in 2019 made her grand entrance into the world on New Year’s Day. Dania Zaragoza and Gonzalo Soto welcomed their first child into the world, Itzayana Evelyne Soto-Zaragoza. Itzayana was born at 5:32 a.m., at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley (AHUV), with a beautiful head of brown hair, weighing 6lbs, 3.5 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches long.
There is something about a new life beginning at the start of a new year that brings great excitement and hopefulness. From parents and extended family members to nurses and doctors the anticipation builds as one year ends and the New Year begins. AHUV’s Obstetrics Department happily takes part in this celebration by gifting the family with their first case of diapers, adding up to over 200 diapers and a basket filled with newborn clothes and quilts.
Nearly 386,000 babies are born worldwide on New Year’s Day. However, the first baby of the year (at any given hospital) always receives extra attention, but all of that aside, Dania and Gonzalo were most happy to have welcomed a healthy baby girl, and as all parents do, they hope for a long future of happiness and health for their daughter.
