MENDOCINO Co., 10/13/18 — Cal Fire is warning that there may be extreme fire weather this weekend across Northern California, and later in the week in Southern California. They have increased preparedness and staffing across the state accordingly. (Check out our coverage of the the 2018 fire season)
The weather forecasts predict high gusty winds, and low humidity. In parts of Siskiyou County the weather watch has been upgraded to a red flag warning.
Cal Fire urges everyone to be extra cautious during such weather events. From their press release:

include:
• Don’t mow or trim dry grass on windy days
• Never pull your vehicle over in dry grass
• Target shoot only in approved areas, use lead ammunition only, and never at metal
• Ensure campfires are allowed, and if so, be sure to extinguish them completely
• Report any suspicious activities to prevent arson
