MENDOCINO CO., 9/20/18 — The annual Colors for Cancer Fun Run and Walk will take place on Sunday, September 23 to raise funds for the Adventist Health program Focus on Healing. The event is hosted by Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, and you can register for the run through September 21, or in person before the run.
The Fun Run and Walk begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration, and the run itself starts at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to wear white, so they can see all the different colors they’ll be doused with throughout the walk, which honors cancer survivors. Afterwards, there will be a variety of family friendly events, including music, snacks, and different activities in the Rural Health court yard in Ukiah. The Focus on Healing program is part of the Adventist Health Cancer Treatment and Infusion Center, and more information about the program can be found in the press release below.

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley Hosts Colors for Cancer Fun Run and Walk on September 23rd
Adventist Health Ukiah Valley (AHUV) will host the Annual Colors for Cancer Fun Run and Walk on Sunday, September 23, 2018, raising funds for the Focus on Healing program. This colorful run/walk is perfect for the entire family. Participants are encouraged to wear white, as color stations are strategically placed throughout the rail trail, dousing each participant with the many colors of cancer awareness, honoring the strength and courage of cancer survivors.
The fun starts with a 7:30AM registration and 9:00AM start time. Participants are encouraged to stay after the race for a morning of fun for the entire family. After you cross the finish line enjoy music, snacks and activities in the Rural Health Center court yard. A tour of the Cancer Treatment and Infusion Center will also follow the race.
The Focus on Healing program is offered through the Cancer Treatment and Infusion Center (CTIC) located at 260 Hospital Drive, Suite 207 in Ukiah. The program’s mission is to reach beyond medical treatment to incorporate elements that foster physical, mental and spiritual well-being including, art, movement and music therapies.
