MENDOCINO Co., 7/13/18 — Going somewhere? We all are, so here’s a list of the roadwork planned for the upcoming week — there may up to 15 minute delays on certain routes so you might want to plan your trips accordingly.
CalTrans sends out information on continuing and upcoming roadwork in the county, which we have reproduced here, lightly edited for relevance and timeliness.

The roadwork described in bold indicates a change in roadwork from last week. Some new projects that may impact your journey include:
- overnight work beginning at the intersection on of Sherwood Road and and Main Street in Willits will lead to one-way traffic controls and 15 minute delays. The work is estimated to be fully completed in 2019 – you can see Caltrans’ current update here, and our previous coverage here.
- drainage work and other new road work will take place on several parts of Route 162, resulting in one-way traffic controls and delays of five – ten minutes

Mendocino County
- (mile marker 77) – AT&T has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at Pacific Avenue South to occur on Friday, July 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
- (mile marker 83.3) – Emergency work near Soldier Point Viaduct will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours day. Motorists should minor traffic slowdowns.
Route 101
- (mile marker .47/30.5) – Striping work from Russian River Bridge Overhead to Williford Road Undercrossing will begin Tuesday, July 17. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
- (mile marker 33/38.5) – Emergency work south of Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane restrictions will be in effect in both directions. Motorist should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
- (mile marker 47.1/47.3) – Construction at Sherwood Road Intersection will begin on Monday, July 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.
- (mile marker 66.8/82.5) – Striping work from Steele & Davidson Lane to Empire Camp Rest Area will occur on Friday, July 13. Lane closures will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
- (mile marker 83.1) – PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at Tan Oak Park to occur on Wednesday, July 18. Lane closures will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
- (mile marker 93) – Construction at Jitney Gulch Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
- (mile marker 96) – Emergency work at Bell Glenn Resort to the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Route 128
- (mile marker 38.4/40.8) – Emergency work from Hibbard Road to Big Oaks Drive will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Route 162
- (mile marker 0.7/2.21) – Drainage work from Outlet Creek Bridge to Corral Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorist should anticipate 5- minute delays.
- (mile marker 3.0/3.9) – Drainage work from 1 mile west of Corral Creek Bridge will begin Friday, July 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.weekdays. Motorist should anticipate 10- minute delays.
- (mile marker 7.1/2.2) – Geotechnical work from Bloody Run Creek Bridge to Road 8152 will occur on Friday. July 13. Lane closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
- (mile marker 16.5/17.7) – Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
- (mile marker 21/21.1) – Drainage work at 1.5 mile west of Sand Bank Creek will begin on Monday, July 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorist should anticipate 10- minute delays.
- (mile marker 23/24.5) – Drainage work from Poonkiny to Fairbanks will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorist should anticipate 10- minute delays.
- (mile marker 33/34) – Drainage work at Short Creek Road will begin on Friday, July 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorist should anticipate 10- minute delays.
- (mile marker 4) – County of Mendocino has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for pavement work at Buckman Drive to occur on Friday, July 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.
- (mile marker 6.3/8.7) – Emergency work east of the entrance to Motorcycle Park will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Route 253
- (mile marker 0/17) – Pavement work and drilling from the Route 128 junction in Booneville to the Highway 101 junction will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
