MENDOCINO Co., 4/27/18 — Have you been considering adopting a new family friend from the animal shelter? If you’re looking for a new pet but short on funds, the upcoming May 5 may be the event for you. The Mendocino County Animal Shelter will be participating in a nationwide “Empty the Shelter” event on Saturday, May 5, and all dog and cat adoption costs (except a $25 dog license) will be covered by the Bissell Pet Foundation. That means you can bring home a new pet for free, and help lower the numbers of animals housed in the shelter.
