Mendocino Co, 9/05/17 — A fire is burning on Highway 20 in Lake County that has closed one lane as of 5:30pm, in the area east of Clearlake Oaks. The blaze began in a motorhome and resulted in temporary evacuations near the incident. All firefighting resources required to contain the blaze are at the scene at this time, according to the California Highway Patrol incident page, with crews from both Lake and Mendocino Counties responding. One way traffic controls are in place and people are asked to avoid the area if possible to keep the roads clear for emergency responders.
Here’s the latest info from the Lake County News and the CHP incident report below. Reader Jonathan Beck submitted these photos from Highway 20 about two miles west of the Oasis Restaurant. Apologies to our readers and Jonathan for the formatting, we are out of the office so can’t resize the photos any better right now. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
