MENDOCINO Co. 2/6/2017 — CalTrans expects Rt 1 just west of Leggett to be closed at least a week, due to an active slide. The slide is too active at this time to begin cleanup. Here’s a picture, from Saturday afternoon:

There is also a slide on Rt 20, between Willits and Fort Bragg, blocking the eastbound lane. As of about 8:00am CalTrans was reporting that there would be one way controlled traffic, and were working on clearing the road.

The Russian River at Hopland and the Navarro River both came up this weekend, though neither appears close to flood stage. Here’s this morning’s data, from the USGS website:

Russian River Feb 6. Flood stage for the Russian is 21 feet.

Navarro River, Feb 6. Flood stage for the Navarro is 23 feet.
