The Mendocino Voice > Mendocino > Seeking trailblazing women (press release)
MENDOCINO Co. 12/16/2016 — The Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition (MWPC) has launched the planning for the 34th Annual Women’s History Gala Celebration to be held at the Saturday Afternoon Clubhouse in Ukiah.
Mark your Calendars & Save the Date: March 5, 2017. Three women in Mendocino County will be honored to represent the 2017 theme:
“Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business”
The National Women’s History Month theme for 2017 honors women who have successfully challenged the role of women in business and the labor force.
Women have always worked, but often their work has been undervalued.
Our Mendocino County 2017 Honorees may represent many diverse backgrounds and each may have made her mark in a different field.
As leaders and innovators, they may have demonstrated women’s ability to create organizations and establish their own businesses that paved the way for better opportunities and working conditions.
They have proved that women could succeed in widening fields.
While each Honoree will be extraordinary, each will also be ordinary in her own way, proving that women business and labor leaders should be considered the norm.
Most importantly, the 2017 Honorees will inspire women and girls to follow.
