Synopsis:
On 10-24-2016 at about 9:50 PM, Mendocino County Deputies were dispatched to a reported burglary in progress at a business in the 75000 block of north Highway 101 in Piercy, California.
Deputies were advised the owner of the business was on his way to the business and was armed with a firearm.
When Deputies arrived they learned the suspect, Clayton David Southwick, was being detained at gun point by the owner. Southwick was subsequently placed in handcuffs and detained.
Deputies learned Southwick had entered the store’s rear door and was taking items when he was confronted by the owner.
Southwick was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in Lieu of $ 15,000.00 bail.
