Today, licensed nurses are invited to a “meet up and informational” session focused on medicinal cannabis, from 6 – 8 pm at the Willits Library. Active or inactive nurses are welcome (vocational, registered and nurse practitioners) to discuss whether there is enough local interest in creating an ongoing “meet-up group” of the American Cannabis Nurse’s Association (ACNA).
Meet-up organizer Janice Cinek said creating an ACNA group would be a professional resource for “active or inactive licensed nurses of Mendocino County who would like to become certified and eventually credentialed in cannabis nursing.” She encouraged anyone interested to check out the association’s website to learn more information about cannabis nursing.
Cinek said if after this initial event, attendees would like to continue to meet more formally, “then another meeting will be scheduled in the very near future to expand the group membership and interest to all nurses of Mendocino County.”
She added, “This endeavor is both a compassionate and important political choice for nurses to make right now. Nurses are the bridge between the medical doctor and the patient. Most importantly, first, foremost, and historically, we are the patient advocate. I encourage all interested nurses to log onto the ACNA website to learn more.”
The event takes place from 6pm – 8pm at the Willits Library, 291 East Commercial Street in Willits. For more information contact Cinek at [email protected]
