On 09-16-2016 Mendocino County Sheriff Deputies took a report of a lost wallet, where the victim stated that her credit cards had been used, charging over $200.00 onto the credit cards. Deputies investigated further and determined the purchases were at several different locations throughout the Willits area.Deputies subsequently determined Lauren Wilburn and Thomas Duerner were responsible for the fraudulent charges onto the credit card.
On 09-16-2016 at approximately 2:00 PM Mendocino County Sheriff Deputies located Wilburn and Duerner driving in their vehicle in the City of Willits. Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Baechtel Street.
Deputies continued their investigation and found Wilburn and Duerner to still be in possession of the victim’s credit card.
Wilburn was arrested for forgery, burglary, conspiracy, obtaining services or goods under false pretenses, misappropriation of found property, possession of stolen Property and violation of probation.
Duerner was arrested for conspiracy, obtaining goods or services under false pretenses, misappropriation of found property and possession of stolen property.
Wilburn and Duerner were both booked into the Mendocino County Jail, where Wilburn was to be held in lieu of $20,000.00 bail and Duerner was to be held in lieu of $15,000.00 bail.
