Waidelich’s badge and service weapon were confiscated earlier this week, according to city officials.
Sheriff Matt Kendall clarified Thursday morning that Waidelich is currently under investigation for new allegations unrelated to MCSO’s previous domestic violence investigation in 2015.
City officials aren’t yet saying what crime Waidelich is suspected of committing, but the investigation is being conducted by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
The posts appear to violate multiple sections of UPD Policy 388, which prohibits content that could compromise the reputation of the Ukiah Police Department on social media.
The defense is moving to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the case is inactive, but plaintiff Amanda Carley’s layers countered with a motion to bring the matter before a jury.
