Fort Bragg downgrades water emergency, no longer receiving water from Ukiah

The Fort Bragg City Council downgraded the city’s water emergency from a Stage 4 water crisis to a Stage 2 water alert because the city’s 22.6 million gallon reservoir is at capacity and the desalination unit is now operational.

Desalination plant arrives in Fort Bragg, ushering in new era of water management

A $335,000 desalination plant arrived in Fort Bragg on Sept. 25, but no longer needs to be used right away thanks to the arrival of much-needed rain. The plant is intended to treat water from the Noyo River, which becomes too brackish for the city to pump for drinking water when the river is experiencing low flows and high tides.
