UKIAH, CA., 1/20/26 — A woman was arrested last week for allegedly shooting at a vehicle in Ukiah, police said Tuesday. 

Alice Strang, a 47-year-old Redwood Valley resident, was arrested following the shooting reported around noon Friday in the 400 block of North State Street. Officers arrived and found shell casings and an unoccupied vehicle near the 300 block of North Main Street that had been struck by gunfire, according to Ukiah police. 

Investigators found surveillance video footage that depicted the suspect and shooting, and shared a suspect description department-wide. A detective in the 500 block of South Orchard Avenue saw someone matching part of the description and stopped her, and a search revealed a Glock 22 pistol and ammunition in her backpack, police said.

Officers determined the ammunition matched the shell casings at the scene and also found clothing in the backpack that Strang allegedly wore at the time of the shooting, police said. 

Strang was booked into Mendocino County Jail on Friday afternoon on suspicion of shooting at an unoccupied vehicle, discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, carrying a loaded firearm in public, vandalism, and violating her probation.
