On August 15, 2025, our beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Bruce Eldon Shupe, passed away surrounded by loved ones, just days before his 76th birthday. He was born on August 26, 1949, in Mesa, Arizona.

Bruce had a gift for making people laugh. Whether it was a well-timed joke, a funny story or a playful tease, he loved bringing a smile to others. Along with his humor, he was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet.

For more than 21 years, Bruce worked at Louisiana Pacific as a journeyman-level mechanic and later a supervisor. After, he took on a new challenge and became the proud co-owner and top salesman of Ukiah Paper Supply. No matter the job, Bruce gave it his all, earning the respect and friendship of everyone he worked alongside.

Outside of work, he poured his energy into the things he loved most: his family, the outdoors and fixing anything that needed it. He was happiest with his hands busy and his heart full, whether he was hunting or fishing, tending his garden or tinkering with a project.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of more than 40 years, Marlene Shupe, and six children: Tina and Mark Krasco , Pamela Shupe Stevens, Bryant and Michon Shupe, Chris and Susie Thompson, Marcie Thompson, Blake Shupe and his fiancé Cyndal Halford, 10 grandchildren along with nine great-grandchildren. His love, laughter and wisdom will be carried on in each of them.

A funeral service to honor Bruce’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ on Dora Avenue in Ukiah. Graveside services and a luncheon will follow.

Bruce will be remembered not just for how hard he worked, but for the joy he brought to those around him. His family and friends will miss his jokes, his stories and his steady presence, but they know he’s still making someone laugh in Heaven.
