MENDOCINO CO., CA., 6/5/26 — The Mendocino County elections office reported that more than 16,500 ballots had yet to be counted for Tuesday’s primary election as of late this week.
According to an unprocessed ballots report from the county elections office, as of Thursday afternoon, 16,572 ballots had yet to be processed, including 15,148 mail-in ballots that arrived before or on Election Day and 862 that were received after Tuesday but postmarked by that day.
An estimated 9,177 ballots have been processed so far, and 233 are left to cure, meaning the signature on the identification envelope could not be matched or was missing. County elections officials said 558 provisional ballots still need to be processed, and four ballots were forwarded from other counties.
The county’s report said its next round of vote results are expected to come by Thursday by 4 p.m.
