UPDATE 3:38 p.m. – Forward progress has been stopped on the Burke Fire south of Ukiah, Cal Fire confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol, the grass fire was reported around 1:54 p.m. in the 4800 block of Burke Hill Drive.
According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, fire personnel will remain on the scene. People should avoid the area.
The Sheriff’s Office asks residents to visit mendoready.org for wildfire readiness and emergency information.

MENDOCINO CO., 5/21/25 – Fire crews are responding to a vegetation south of Ukiah called the Burke Fire, the Mendocino Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the fire was reported around 1:54 p.m. in the 4800 block of Burke Hill Drive.
