MENDOCINO CO., 4/24/25 — California State Assemblymember Chris Rogers (D-Santa Rosa) will host a town hall on Sunday in Caspar.
Elected to the California State Assembly just six months ago, Chris Rogers hit the ground running. Rogers represents District 2, which includes Del Norte, Trinity, Humboldt, Mendocino and Sonoma counties, an enormous, diverse district.
He serves on fiscal and policy committees of particular importance to his district: the Communications and Conveyance Committee, the Transportation Committee, and the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee. He also serves on the budget subcommittee that reviews proposed legislation on the climate crisis, energy, resources, and transportation.
“With hundreds of miles of coastline and an abundance of natural resources in the district, these committees are critical in supporting and regulating the industries that fuel our economy and the programs that serve our communities,” he said.
He pointed out the importance of serving on these particular committees. “Sitting on these committees allows the Assembly District 2 to have a voice in expanding access to broadband, utilities, and transportation infrastructure, as well as addressing the unique needs of rural economies and ensuring the state budget reflects the priorities and needs of our entire state.”
Rogers has already introduced legislation promoting funding for offshore wind and geothermal energy development, to support rural healthcare, and in his first bill, introduced in January 2025, to restore and protect Klamath River fisheries. At the town hall meeting, Rogers will discuss issues of interest to county residents and listen to their concerns. The meeting is hosted by the nonprofit GrassRoots Institute and the League of Women Voters.
