An Albion man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of possessing narcotics with the intent to sell, according to the Fort Bragg Police Department.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the 32000 block of State Route 20 in Fort Bragg.
The driver, Charles Gielow, 48, had two felony arrest warrants outstanding in Mendocino County. He was also on post-release community supervision, police said.
While searching Gielow, officers found $1,500 in cash in his wallet. Officers then searched Gielow’s vehicle, in which they allegedly found drug packaging materials, a digital scale, approximately 50 tablets of buprenorphine and nine buprenorphine sublingual films.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, buprenorphine is a synthetic opioid often prescribed to treat opioid use disorder. It is a schedule III drug with the potential to be physically and psychologically addictive.
Officers continued to search the vehicle and found a magnetic box attached to the engine. Inside the box, officers allegedly found 45.01 grams of methamphetamine, 13.40 grams of fentanyl, 6.96 grams of heroin and two oxycodone tablets.
Gielow was booked at Mendocino County jail on suspicion of several felonies, including possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl for transportation and sale and possession of brass knuckles. No bail was set.
