MENDOCINO CO., 9/29/18 — A single car accident is currently blocking lanes on U.S. Route 101 south of Willits, just past the Rock Quarry and in the vicinity of the Ridgewood Ranch entrance. It appears as though the vehicle is currently facing northbound in the southbound #1 lane, after traveling in the fast lane and losing control, according to the CHP incident report. Emergency responders are on the way to the scene.
The first day rains have arrived, which means the roadways are extra slick, and this is at least the third accident on Highway 101 in the Willits area in the last few hours. Currently Hwy. 101 is blocked near the junction of Reynolds Highway to the north of town due to another collision. Take caution on the roads as emergency vehicles may be in the area.
