UKIAH, CA., 1/4/17 –– Art walk this Friday! Bob Rhoades, a retired printmaking instructor, will give an intro to lithography at the Grace Hudson museum, which is currently exhibiting a collection of lithographic portraits of Native American ambassadors. A photo display about a young man living with diabetes will be at 304 North State Street. Adele Pruitt and her students will show their work at the library, and Bona Marketplace has the work of two new artists on display. Businesses and galleries participating in the art walk will fly a large red flag outside their establishments, and refreshments can be found at many of them. Grace Hudson Museum 431 S Main Street The Grace Hudson Museum will be having a special event for First Friday Art Walk in January. Bob Rhoades, retired art and printmaking instructor at the College of the Redwoods, will provide an informal introduction to a variety of printmaking techniques, with an emphasis on lithography. Refreshments will be served. This event is free. The Museum will also be showing its newest exhibit, “The First Ambassadors,” which features rare lithographic portraits and fascinating life stories of distinguished Native American leaders who came to Washington, D.C. to negotiate for tribal rights in the early 19th century.
