
A Robinson Creek wild horse in Ukiah, Calif., on July 17, 2026. The horses roam around the Pine Ridge Road in the mountains and they occasionally block the road. The photographer was stuck for about 30 minutes waiting on a herd of 17 horses, including three foals.
“Its always a pleasure to run into the herds,” Molly Faahs said. “There is an estimated 200 of them out here. So far while living out here, I regularly encounter two large herds.”
