MENDOCINO CO., 4/1/26 — A 38-year-old man from Willits has been arrested for allegedly trying to meet up with a teenage girl for lewd acts, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

Christopher Sironi was arrested Tuesday in a case that started on March 20 when someone from Pennsylvania called the Sheriff’s Office and said he was starting a nonprofit to protect children and had created a fake online profile depicting a 14-year-old girl named “Rosie” who Sironi allegedly communicated with and initiated sexual conversations.

The person from Pennsylvania used a female to speak with Sironi on the phone to agree to meet in California, and investigators learned that he planned to meet with her Tuesday. Authorities watched Sironi’s residence in the 1200 block of Tuck Road in Brooktrails while “Rosie” said she was currently at nearby Willits Municipal Airport and asked him to meet her, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sironi left his home to head to the airport and was arrested on suspicion of arranging a meeting with a minor to engage in lewd or lascivious conduct and sending explicit photographs to a minor, sheriff’s officials said. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail on $25,000 bail and remained in custody as of Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (707) 463-4086 and use option 1. Information can also be given anonymously at a tip line at (707) 234-2100.

  1. Our society had a countdown to when Lindsay Lohan became legal. It was on TV, we watched it as teenagers. Is anyone really surprised? We’ve been telling men this is ok for all time. We’re all to blame.
