MENDOCINO CO., 4/28/26 — A man who allegedly battered a woman and put children in harm’s way was arrested in Ukiah last week, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Thursday at about 9:40 p.m., deputies arrived in the 600 block of Third Street in Ukiah on a report of a domestic disturbance. A 39-year-old woman told the Sheriff’s Office that she was living with a man who allegedly got into an argument with her that turned physical.

According to the woman, the suspect, Eleuterio Montalvo-Perez, 34, allegedly forced her onto the bed before pulling her onto the floor and then dragging her 15 feet through the living room. The woman said she struck Montalvo-Perez with a glass object in self-defense, ending the altercation.

Four children were also in the home, aged 7 to 16, so Montalvo-Perez was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment in addition to kidnapping and domestic battery causing injury, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Montalvo-Perez was booked into jail, and as of Monday, was still there on $100,000 bail.
