Two quakes detected near Covelo

MENDOCINO CO., 4/9/26 —Two small earthquakes shook an area southwest of Covelo in Mendocino County on Thursday morning.

The quakes, with preliminary magnitudes of 3.0 and 2.6, struck at 11:51 a.m. and 11:43 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A 2.5 quake was also reported on Wednesday in the Brooktrails area north of Willits.

No damage has been reported.
