MENDOCINO CO., 4/13/26 — A teenage girl was arrested in Mendocino County after allegedly getting drunk and assaulting someone and causing damage to property, the Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
On Friday at about 8 a.m., deputies were called to Coyote Valley Boulevard and North State Street in Redwood Valley on a report of a juvenile girl causing a disturbance.
Deputies spoke with a gas station attendant who said a girl was seen running after a vehicle and striking its windows as it drove away.
The 17-year-old girl was located and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. She initially ran from the deputies and allegedly chased another car before she was detained. The girl had an injury to her wrist and the Sheriff’s Office said she was unable to care for herself. Paramedics arrived and tended to her injury.
Investigators spoke with a woman who said the girl arrived at her home at the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians and got into a verbal fight that escalated into a physical altercation. The woman alleges that the girl threw multiple large rocks, which struck the woman and injured her.
From there, the girl allegedly continued along Coyote Valley Boulevard, where she threw a 10-pound rock through the rear window of the victim’s vehicle, causing significant damage. The Sheriff’s Office alleges they found the rock inside the car near the broken window.
