FORT BRAGG, CA., 4/9/26 — A 49-year-old man from Albion and 39-year-old man from Fort Bragg were arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance for sales and several other charges, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
Charles Gielow III and Charles Blunt were arrested late Saturday evening at the Oceanside Inn in Fort Bragg after MCSO deputies and Fort Bragg Police Department officers conducted a postďżľrelease community supervision compliance check on Gielow, whom law enforcement learned was staying at the inn on North Main Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, when law enforcement made initial contact with Gielow at the inn, Gielow removed his shorts, which held a pistol, and kicked them to the side. Deputies searched the room and located 76 grams of narcotics as well as various items associated with selling narcotics. Initial observations and testing led authorities to believe these narcotics consist of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin, the Sheriff’s Office said. Law enforcement also found metal knuckles that allegedly belong to Blunt.
Both Gielow and Blunt are being held at the Mendocino County jail on a no-bail status.
