MENDOCINO CO., 1/27/26 – The Mendocino Council of Governments will hold a public hearing Monday on unmet transit needs for the 2026–27 fiscal year, inviting residents to share feedback on transportation gaps across the county.
The annual process allows community members to identify transit needs not currently met by existing public or private services.
The public hearing will include recommendations from the Social Services Transportation Advisory Council, which advises MCOG on transit needs affecting seniors, people with disabilities and low-income residents.
According to the Mendocino Transit Authority’s most recent Short-Range Transit Development Plan, residents have consistently identified gaps in rural service, limited evening and weekend routes, and barriers for households without access to a personal vehicle. Public input gathered through the process helps determine which transit improvements are prioritized and funded.
The hearing takes place at the Board of Supervisors Chamber, room 1070, 501 Low Gap Road, Ukiah, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb 2. and will be held in a held in a hybrid format with in-person and remote participation. Public comments can be provided during the meeting or submitted in advance. To request a Zoom link, email info@mendocinocog.org or call MCOG Administration at (707) 463-1859.
