MENDOCINO CO., 01/13/26 – A second earthquake jolted parts of Mendocino County on Tuesday afternoon, the latest a 3.7-magnitude temblor after a 4.4-magnitude quake hit the same area less than two hours earlier.
The initial earthquake was reported at 1:10 p.m. and was centered about 5 miles east-southeast of Willits and about 17 miles north of Ukiah –– specifically off Tomki Road near the Holy Transfiguration Monastery –– according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The second quake was reported at 2:51 p.m. in the same area, and caused shaking that could be felt at the Mendocino College campus in Ukiah.
