MENDOCINO CO., 12/24/25 – A PG&E power outage is impacting more than 9,500 customers across Mendocino County — roughly equivalent to about 10% of county households — as of Wednesday morning, according to the utility’s live outage map.

Impacted areas include Fort Bragg, Caspar, Mendocino, Comptche, Albion, Elk, Navarro, Philo, Manchester, Point Arena, Gualala, Yorkville, Boonville and parts of Branscomb. A large portion of The Sea Ranch is also without power.

Most of the outages began late Tuesday or early Wednesday, leaving many customers without power when they woke up. PG&E cited weather-related issues as the cause, as high winds and heavy rain battered the region overnight.

As of Wednesday morning, PG&E said crews were working to restore power in some areas, but no estimated restoration times were available.

PG&E customers can register for alerts and monitor outages and restoration times at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outage-tools/outage-map/ or call 1 (800) 743-5002.

Power outages may last for hours or days. Safety tips on generator use, food storage and medical care during outages are available at https://www.ready.gov/power-outages.

  1. As the cost for electricity keeps going up on your monthly PG&E electric bill, the power keeps going off more often. What’s wrong with this picture?
Like so many things going wrong in the State of California these days, we wonder why this keeps happening, right here, (in River City).
