UKIAH, CA., 12/21/25 – The city of Ukiah is urging residents to drive cautiously Sunday night as flooding affects parts of the city.

According to the city, flooding is occurring in multiple areas as a winter storm brings heavy rain to Mendocino County.

City streets crews are clearing drains, placing warning signs and closing roadways as needed, officials said.

The National Weather Service forecasts that Ukiah will receive about 1 to 3 inches of rain through Monday as the storm continues to impact the North Coast, with heavier amounts possible at higher elevations. A flood warning remains in place until 8 p.m.

Both the city and the National Weather Service warn motorists never to attempt to cross flooded roadways, noting that water depth and road conditions can be difficult to judge. Officials emphasize the message: “Turn around, don’t drown.”

Residents are asked to report flooding to the Ukiah Police Department’s non-emergency line at (707) 462-6262.

  1. We can only hope that DA Eyster slipped on a a soggy leaf and fell down a storm drain to be swept out to sea. Justice.
