MENDOCINO CO. 12/21/25 – Anchor Bay resident Kevin Evans announced Friday that he will run for Mendocino County’s 5th District supervisor in 2026.

Evans is challenging incumbent Ted Williams, who has held the seat since 2019.

Evans and his partner, Sylvia, have lived in Anchor Bay since 2016. He currently serves as chair of the Gualala Municipal Advisory Council and volunteers with the Gualala Lions Club, Action Network, and the Mendocino Music Festival.

Affordable housing is one of Evans’ top campaign priorities.

“When teachers, healthcare workers and local employees can’t afford to live here, it puts pressure on our schools, our medical center and our small businesses,” Evans said.

Environmental protection, the fishing industry and road conditions are also central to his platform.

A man in a green jacket stands at an elections counter inside a county office building, hands clasped on the counter, facing a computer monitor labeled “Elections.” A sign on the counter reads “Moved? New PO Box? Gotten Married? Changed Your Name? Has Your Signature Changed? Re-register to Vote!” Office desks and computers are visible behind a glass partition.

In his campaign announcement, Evans highlighted his community involvement, including helping restore Bower Park in Gualala, securing a federal grant to rebuild the Gualala Community Center, helping achieve recognition of Gualala as a census-designated place, improving law enforcement coverage in unincorporated areas of the South Coast, and serving two years on the Mendocino County Grand Jury.

“I’m running to be a steady, reliable voice for the 5th District,” Evans said. “Protecting the environment, keeping our roads safe, supporting affordable housing, and making sure local voices are heard should always come first.”

  1. Ask yourself a few things, is this man actually from the area and does he know Mendocino County? Has he gotten involved in the corruption like pretty much everybody else in the Board of Supervisors and the DA’s office? Is he from the good old boys school where he pretty much cares about herself and his own pocket before the people of Mendocino County? And last but not least, can he answer all of these questions honestly? Have a man tell the truth instead of what he wants us to hear and then maybe just maybe he’ll deserve that seat because most of the others don’t and the man that he’s running for his seat doesn’t. Thank you

  2. Mendo raised., ask him… the primary is in June, so you, and voters will have plenty of time to vet him, And the current supe.

  3. Thank you Mendo raised for your very important questions and hawkwork’s recommendation.
