UKIAH, CA., 11/20/25 – A Mendocino College professor was arrested Thursday by the Ukiah Police Department on suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor that allegedly began when the girl was 13 years old.

Jason Davis, a 54-year-old Ukiah resident and an English professor who has recently been placed on administrative leave at Mendocino College, was taken into custody around 3 p.m. Thursday. According to a press release from the Ukiah Police Department, he was booked into Mendocino County Jail and was being held on $1 million bail.

In September, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office referred an investigation to Ukiah police about a possible sexual relationship between a Mendocino College professor and an underage student. Police noted in their press release that Davis is also the subject of a civil lawsuit in San Francisco Superior Court involving two former students there accusing him of sexual abuse.

According to police, detectives obtained a search warrant for Davis’ home and confirmed that he had been in a sexual and romantic relationship with a former student who was 15. Detectives said they found photos and videos showing that the relationship began when the girl was 13.

Davis has been arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts, meaning sexual contact, with a child under 14 years of age, a child under 15 years of age, oral copulation with a person under 16 years of age, unlawful sexual intercourse with an underage female, and possession of material showing sexual conduct of a person under 18.

This is a developing story.

  1. Is anyone surprised? He was dating a college student, just recently. He has a sick obsession with children. Disgusting.

  2. Let’s keep in mind this guy has kids in this town. Innocent children that didn’t ask for this.
Men obviously need help or medical intervention. Women have been getting the medical book thrown at them for millenia, it’s time to regulate men’s reproductive functions. They need group meetings, sponsors, emergency hot lines, counselors and medication!! Women’s bodies are medicated to within an inch of their lives to control reproduction, why is there no medication for sexual deviancy in men? No nightly meetings like AA? This is an epidemic, and it will only get worse if we don’t acknowledge this as common. We must not accept it as normal. And until then, abortion must remain safe and legal.

  3. I remember my father’s thoughts on criminals that defy all efforts of correction and rehabilitation, arsonists and pedophiles. He spent his entire career in law enforcement and saw this kind of scenario play out, time and again. Even the state has some agreement. Even after paying for their crimes by serving out prison sentences and parole, pedophiles spend the rest of their lives on the Megan’s Law site. The ones that haven’t been caught yet are the scariest. They walk along side us in all walks of life. Today, there is one less predator to worry about. Thanks to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department for taking this guy out of our school system. My heart goes out to the students, friends and loved ones around him that he so bitterly betrayed.

  4. Mendocino county is full of child molestors…sexual deviants are thick in Ukiah police department and mendo sheriffs department. Seems like most positions of power in this county. And yet they want to crack down on rvs on parcels and hip camp. Sounds like we need to get rid of code enforcement and replace them with victim counselors. While we’re at it, i think we could use some new supervisors as well…ted Williams has a hell of a reputation with the single mothers on the coast, whether its stalking them on their vacations to Europe (yep, he did that), to outright receiving money to push pet projects like city boy bern-down. Don’t get me started on the dip-$h!t sheriff whining about dogs chasing horses, as if it were a priority. Time for change, folks. We got scum that has slithered it way into our schools and local government.
