A follow-up investigation into the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in Fort Bragg at gunpoint earlier this week has led to further allegations against one of the men arrested on suspicion of the assault, police said.
Officers were told two men compelled the woman to get into a white sedan in the 700 block of North Main Street shortly after 11 p.m., according to Fort Bragg police.
Jose Plascencia, 25, and Douglas Hance, 45, both from Fort Bragg, were accused of kidnapping, false imprisonment, conspiracy to commit a crime, and probation violation, police said.
On Tuesday morning, a search warrant was executed in the 900 block of John Cimolino Way in Fort Bragg in relation to the case. Investigators believed that weapons and narcotics could be present in the home and that a 10-year-old child was being exposed to both, according to police.
As officers carried out the search, a woman, her teenage son and the 10-year-old child were removed from the residence.
The search allegedly yielded a large quantity of cannabis, controlled substances, a short-barreled rifle, ammunition and other firearms, along with drug sales paraphernalia. Police said the child had access to the guns and drugs and that the woman at the residence had no relationship to the child. The woman and her teenage son were released and the 10-year-old was taken into the care of child protective services.
After the search, allegations against Hance were added to include suspected child abuse or neglect with the possibility of great bodily injury, being in possession of an assault weapon, being a prohibited person in possession of firearms and drugs; possession of drugs and marijuana for sale, the manufacture or import of a short-barreled rifle, and the manufacture of an undetectable firearm.
