FORT BRAGG, CA., 9/3/25 – An alleged case of road rage led to a Fort Bragg man being arrested on suspicion of waving a stolen gun at a driver and proceeding to vandalize their vehicle, police said.  

Around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Fort Bragg police were informed of an alleged act of vandalism in the 300 block of North Corry Street.  

According to police, officers were told by the reporting party that 18-year-old Javier Almazan-Naal of Fort Bragg had allegedly vandalized a vehicle and fled the scene.  

While responding to the report of vandalism, officers saw a vehicle driving in the 300 block of East Alder Street matching the one described by the reporting party.  

Officers initiated a traffic stop and detained the driver and passenger, the latter who was identified as Almazan-Naal, police said.  

During the investigation, officers learned that Almazan-Naal was allegedly involved in an act of road rage during which he waved a gun at the driver of another car.  

Almazan-Naal’s vehicle is alleged to have followed the driver home, where Almazan-Naal vandalized the driver’s vehicle. 

During a search of the vehicle Almazan-Naal was riding in, officers allegedly found a 9mm Glock handgun in a backpack owned by Almazan-Naal. The firearm had been reported stolen in Reno, Nevada, according to police. 

Gang-related paraphernalia was also allegedly found in the backpack. 

Almazan-Naal was arrested and booked into Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in public; possessing a stolen firearm; vandalism; brandishing a firearm at an occupant of a motor vehicle; and participating in a criminal street gang. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
