MENDOCINO CO., 8/28/25 – The California Highway Patrol will hold a DUI checkpoint on Friday in the Ukiah area, the CHP said.

The checkpoint comes at the start of a long Labor Day weekend.

According to the CHP, the checkpoint will be in northbound North State Street just north of the Ukiah city limits from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

“It is our goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal crashes caused by intoxicated drivers,” the CHP said. “We are asking the public to designate a driver if they happen to allow alcohol to be a part of the evening. Arrive alive, don’t drink and drive!”
