FORT BRAGG, CA., 7/28/25 – Fort Bragg Public Works began flushing water lines Monday morning. The project will last through Friday and may impact water quality and pressure for residents and businesses, the city said.
According to the city, all the fire hydrants in the city limits will be flushed. Most will be flushed between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. with the exception of downtown and Main Street, which will be flushed on Wednesday evening, starting at 8 p.m.
The lines must be flushed to maintain the quality of the water lines and water pressure, the city said. It will also allow public works staff to inspect fire hydrants.
During the flushing process, residents and businesses may see a slight discoloration in their water. The water may be discolored, but it is safe.
If households experience water discoloration, the city recommends running the water COLD from the tap for a few minutes or until it runs clear.
