WILLITS, CA., 4/7/25 – Two notable poets from the coast will read their works at the Willits Community Theatre on Saturday.
Known for hosting regular poetry readings at Fort Bragg’s Cobalt Gallery, Joe Smith and Larry Felson will share new and previously published works.
International man of mystery Joe Smith brings his years of living abroad and his settling in Fort Bragg to his works. He’s been publishing poetry for decades via national and local publications and publishers. His latest work “Hot Pink” was published by Littoral Press in 2024.
Larry Felson relocated to Fort Bragg from the Bay Area in recent years, bringing with him experiences in teaching English at Oakland High School and a fascination with Greek literature, the latter which took him to study the art form in Greece. His most recent collection, “Dawn Out of Order,” was published in 2022.
Poets of all stripes will be invited to participate in an open reading after Felson and Smith share their works.
The reading will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at the Willits Community Theatre, 37 W. Van Lane, Willits. Admission is by donation with $10 suggested donation. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. More information can be found at wctperformingartscenter.org.
