UKIAH, CA., 3/24/25 – Unidentified human remains were found in Ukiah on Saturday morning, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said.  

Just before 10 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that human remains were found in the 1800 block of Low Gap Road in Ukiah.  

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found by a local nonprofit group that was cleaning up trash in the area. Further investigation led deputies to confirm the remains were that of an adult.  

The case is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Ukiah Police Department. To assist the coroner with identifying the remains, the agencies are checking active missing persons cases. Foul play is not suspected, the Sheriff’s Office said.
