MENDOCINO CO., 10/3/24 – Round Valley residents have a chance to mix and mingle with candidates on the Nov. 5 ballot at a candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 8.  

Presented by the Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition and the American Association of University Women, the event includes a Q&A session with candidates running for the Mendocino County Board of Education, Round Valley Unified School District and the Covelo Fire Protection District.  

The candidates anticipated to participate are: 

Mendocino County Board of Education 

  • David R. Strock, parent and county planner from Willits  
  • Michelle Hutchins, educator and businessowner from Willits 
  • Nancy J. Bennet, self-employed from Willits 

Round Valley Unified School District 

  • Steve McCormack, small businessowner 
  • Cindy Nelson, retail sales 

Covelo Fire Protection District 

  • Esther Sis Bryant, IHSS caregiver 

The public is encouraged to submit questions by emailing vjmuchowski@gmail.com or by submitting written questions at the event. According to the Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition, not all questions may be answered and questions about a similar topic or theme may be combined.  

The candidate forum takes place Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Round Valley Branch Library, 23925 Howard St., Covelo.
