UKIAH, CA., 2/23/26 — Mendocino County will hold an evacuation route planning event for community members to provide feedback and learn about the county’s draft evacuation plan.

On Thursday at Ukiah Bible Church, the county, in collaboration with BKF Engineers, a Bay Area civil engineering firm, will host a meeting to provide an update on the proposed East Hills Ukiah Evacuation Route Project.

According to the county, “The East Hills Ukiah Evacuation Route Project proposes a secondary evacuation route east of the Ukiah East Hills communities, including Deerwood Estates, El Dorado Estates, Vichy Springs, and the Guidiville Rancheria.”

The county will be proposing a draft initial study, which means it still needs to undergo a review under the California Environmental Quality Act before it can be approved.

The event will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ukiah Bible Church at 140 Arroyo Road, Ukiah.
