UKIAH, CA., 2/14/26 – Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has welcomed physician Dr. Holly Astin to its staff, the health care provider announced Monday.

The board-certified family medicine physician will provide preventative care, well-child visits, sports physicals, sick visits and chronic disease management, including care for patients with diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure, both at its clinic and hospital, Adventist Health said in an announcement.

Astin earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health at San Antonio and completed the rural training track in the University of Colorado Family Medicine Residency program at Fort Morgan. She also serves as faculty with the Adventist Health Family Medicine Residency Program.

According to Adventist Health, Astin grew up in Salt Lake City in a multicultural household with immigrant roots and did not initially see Hispanic women represented in medicine.

“That changed when I went to medical school,” Astin said in the release. “I saw Hispanic women who were doctors, and it finally clicked — I can do that too.”

Astin said she was drawn to Mendocino County for the opportunity to practice community-based medicine while teaching. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
